Welcome: Let's get you going!

I would like to take a minute and say thank you for checking out my site. I hope you find the information here useful and encouraging. I want to introduce you to my site and help you navigate what you see. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to leave them under this post and I will reply back.

To keep up with what I'm doing here, you have several options. First, you can bookmark http://www.sarahsdeals.net in your browser. Many people also find that it's nice to "Like" Sarah's Deals on Facebook and receive updates in their Facebook feed. (Fair warning, it's a very active page, so you see a lot of updates on Facebook.) You can also follow me at Sarah's Deals on Twitter. And now I hang out on Sarah's Deals on Pinterest too! Other options for joining are found on the right hand side of this page. Look for your preferred connection via the buttons for RSS feed, subscribing by email, Networked Blogs and Google Friend Connect.

I have a list of ten articles that will help you get started in couponing/deal shopping here. I believe everyone from beginner to expert can find something new or helpful there. I'm currently working on full breakdowns of policies for each store and online resource. You can check out my Shopping Tips 101 Series for more on that and until that is finished you can check out my Couponing Resources notes from the classes I teach. And for a little bit of fun, you might want to check out types of coupon users and see which type you are or want to be.

Be sure to look to the right sidebar to find a list of common abbreviations. I don't use all of them all the time, but when you see codes in all caps, they are decoded there for you find easily and for your reference.

I also want to take a minute to "decode" what you see here. My personal coupon method is the full insert method and a small file for printed coupons. The full insert method simply means keeping the coupon inserts in tact and utilizing a tote bag to store them. Then when you see a "code" here on Sarah's Deals with a date and letter combo, such as 5/1SS, you go to you inserts and find the Smart Source insert with the 5/1/11 date on the spine, then flip through the insert and find the coupon you want. Clip and attach to your list for that store.

You can also look for coupons yourself in the Sarah's Deals Coupon Database.

I do ad matchups myself for about 1/2 the stores here. The remaining deals are provided by other bloggers. I regularly feature deals as ads are available. Sometimes that is prior to the sale date, sometimes it's not until the sale begins. This is due mostly to the store policy on releasing ads to the public. Some do it early, some don't. Below you will find a list to category links. This will be everything I've posted to that store's category, so as the week goes on and I find extra deals, they will appear at the top. Simply scroll down the page to find other posts. Please also note the dates on the posts so you are sure to stay in the proper sale period. Lastly, I've made some notes for you. Please keep these things in mind.

Stores matched by me:

Meijer - Ads run weekly. Most areas run Sun-Sat, but some do run Wed-Tues. Ads and coupon policies vary by region. Many Meijer stores double coupons $.50 and under. Here is West Michigan they do not. Be sure to check your local ad for prices and coupon policy.

Dollar General - Ads are national. Deals should be the same at all stores. Ads are roughly every other week Sun-Sun, but sometimes skip an extra week. They also run multiple week WOW deals, but they are hit and miss on great coupon deals. I update in store finds often.

Family Dollar - Ads are national. Deals should be the same at all stores. Very strange ad schedule. There are month long coupon books, 10 day ads, 20 day ads and 7 day ads.

Menards - Ads are national and start on Sundays, run for 1 to 2 weeks. Lots of rebates and many free after rebate items you won't find other places.

Family Fare (Spartan Stores - VG's, Glen's) - Ads run Sunday through Saturday. Prices and coupon policies vary GREATLY by region, type of store and whether they are corporate owned or just carry Spartan products.

Save A Lot - Ads vary from store to store and not all are online, but many times things will be the same in other stores, even it not advertised.

Store deals from other bloggers:

Best weekly deals and occasional extras from Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Aldi, Kmart and Target run Sunday through Saturday. Most of these should be national, but some stores run test markets from time to time. You will also find Kroger deals from the Cincinnati area and sale items should be the same, though prices vary by region. Walmart deals can be found here as well and with a recently updated coupon policy, the deals are getting better.

My Giveaways

You can read more about me if you would like. I've been writing this blog since August 2008 and am proud of the site I have built. I encourage you to do what works for you, start small and learn as you go. When possible, please consider helping out those in your community. That free item you won't/don't use at the store you are already shopping at? Grab one and donate it to a pantry, mission or neighbor in need.

I run reviews and/or giveaways from time to time as well. I love working with everyone from crafters who sell, all the way up to national brands, so you will see it all. If you are interested in seeing a certain product highlighted or have a company that would like to be considered for review or offer a giveaway, please contact me.

Though this site was started as a hobby, I like you to know up front that I do make some money for what I do. Sometimes it's in the form of paid advertisements in the sidebar, sometimes in sponsored posts and mostly in the form of affiliate links (some for free printable coupons, some where you can purchase things, some for freebies or newsletters). I don't charge you to use this site, and it's always your choice to purchase or print from my links. No matter what, I strive to keep the content relevant to topic and only agree to content that I already know/like/approve of or believe that fits. All opinions are mine regardless of any compensation received. I do not accept opportunities that require me to write a specific opinion of a product or company.

Thank you again for visiting. I hope you come back soon. And, as stated above, please ask questions in the comments or contact me via the email button on the right. I strive to respond to all comments and inquiries in a timely manner. I'm here to help you live better, for less.

I'm also here from TSP and have been looking for a site like yours. I live in Hudsonville so this is right up my alley. What I've seen so far looks great and I'm looking forward to checking out more of the site. Thanks for sharing with the TSP community.

TSP listener here too. I was a bit put off by saving coupons before, but after listening to you on the show I think i'm going to give it a real try through your site.
