Shopping Tips 101: SavingStar eCoupons

PinIt

SavingStar is an eCoupon program. You load the coupons to your store loyalty card, BUT you do not pay less at the register. SavingStar works more like a rebate program. Save on your groceries with SavingStar. SavingStar is a new eCoupon service that's totally paperless - so there's nothing to clip or print. Get over 50 eCoupons worth over $50. Click Here.

Step One:
Go to Saving Star and sign up.

Step Two:
Search for participating stores in your area and register your cards. Spartan Stores w/a YES Card, CVS and Rite Aid participate near me.

Step Three:
Load SavingStar eCoupons to your account. It saves them in your SavingStar account for use at all stores you have registered cards in their system.

Step Four:
Shop for your items. Your price in store will not go down when you scan your card.

Step Five:
Wait for your credit to your SavingStar account. It will take 7-30 days for the store you shopped at to report back to SavingStar.

Step Six:
Hit the $5.00 minimum payout (or higher).

Step Seven:
Cash out to your bank account, Paypal, for an Amazon.com gift card or donate to charity. (More options coming soon according to SavingStar).

Other Need to Knows:

SavingStar eCoupons CAN be used with sales and store coupons according to this answer on their Facebook page.

To me, this reads that you are not to use a manufacturer coupon with the SavingStar eCoupon. Though, there are comments on their wall that it does work for people to combine the paper manufacturer coupon and the SavingStar eCoupon. And this post below seems to support that though it's not "generally allowed" by manufacturers, that it does work and is not forbidden by SavingStar.

This is the response that I received when I asked directly if you can use a paper manufacturer coupon and still get the SavingStar eCoupon offer.

So, that being said, I'll let you draw your conclusions since the company itself has taken the same stance.

SavingStar also has apps for iPhone and Android that allows you to select and instantly load coupons to your account right from your phone as you are out and about.

Happy Shopping!
