Can you come up with just 6 words that describe what Grand Rapids means to you?

That's what MyGR6 asks you to do. When you submit your 6, you will be entered to win over $10,000 in prizes that include hotel, restaurant, subscriptions and more from Grand Rapids businesses! Keeping in theme, there will be 6 winners as well! Amway and the Grand Rapids Press are sponsors in this movement and have brought some amazing companies on board with them. What a great opportunity for many people to remind the world how great our town is! There's even an interactive MyGR6 exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public Museum that will be FREE as part of Art Prize that starts this week.

My 6 should have been easier to come up with. I stressed about it for days before reading the words I have right here on my banner. Then it came to me:

Everyone Can Live Better For Less

See, it was staring me in the face the whole time. It's what I show you right here, every day. I hear jokes all the time about how "Dutch" West Michigan is, but in all truthfulness, I think we just know the value of a dollar and like to have something to show for all our hard work. We live, work and play with passion in Grand Rapids while being mindful of the bottom line.

We have top of the line community programs, events, facilities and more. Grand Rapids has a wide variety of national and international companies that get involved in the community to keep services and events affordable while providing world class experiences. A vibrant downtown that anyone can enjoy, partnerships between corporations and non-profits that enhance the lives of the citizens and people around the greater Grand Rapids area that display a love for the city every day. Put it all together and you have a place where everyone can live a good life on a budget.
